My name is Megan and I’m 28 years old and this is my Transplant Surviver Story.
I’m a 2 time Liver Transplant surviver I was born with Biliary atresia is a blockage in the tubes (ducts) that carry bile from the liver to the gallbladder. This congenital condition occurs when the bile ducts inside or outside the liver do not develop normally. It is not known why the biliary system fails to develop normally. I was 4 months old my first Transplant was July of 1993 when I got my first Liver Transplant my dad was my first donor.. 😃😃😃💚💚💚💚 I got my 2nd Liver Transplant at 4 years old it was April of 1997. I was constantly in and out of the hospital the first 4 years of my life I’ve had 37 surgeries in that short time. I’ve come a long ways and growing up I was told I’m stubborn and I’m a fighter I had a stroke after the 2nd Transplant and multiple seizures and am still here and I’m loving and enjoying life. I got to graduate with my class on time be in sports and clubs got to do a lot of babysitting got to travel a lot. And now I’m going to be 29 in March and am still traveling and loving ❤️ and living life to the fullest with my dog 🐕 she’s my best friend and my family and friends.
